Easter in Quarantine

Hello Brave Hearts,

Is it a Happy Easter After All?

I don't know what Easter has meant to you in the past, or how you have chosen to observe or celebrate - but this one is... different, am I right?!

I've been pondering what the heck Easter is supposed to mean when we're in this odd historical and personally turbulent moment: quarantine life and front-lines service due to the global pandemic of the virus, COVID-19. In general, according to the Christian wisdom tradition, Easter has meant many things including life triumphing over death, release, restoration, victory and a profound shift in how things used to be.

But, we're still "stuck" in the middle of this pandemic, things are still fearful, things are not easy and answers are still not readily apparent. How does a community with the tag-line, "doubters + disciples together" approach Easter during quarantine?

An Easter Monday Sermon & Song

I'd like to take a stab at it in a not so "traditional" manner for our community - by preaching. Say What? A sermon? The answer is yup: because we're experimental like that... So click on over to our

and let's explore the question together: Empty Tomb: Now What?

Next, please spend a minute with this incredible

"Praise Song for the Pandemic"

This Wednesday

We will gather virtually on Wednesday April 15th. We are gathering via ZOOM which means you can join the "call" by telephone or by video conference. We hope you'll join us so we can see your face, and listen to your voice. We need now, more than ever, to hear from each other and grow in our Studio of Love, even if if looks different than we are used to. If you need help understanding how to connect, ask Pastor Libby for help! See the ZOOM invitation & instructions at the bottom of this email.

This Wednesday at 6:15pm we will begin with Kids Kornerfor all our precious kiddos.
At 6:35pm, in our larger community, we'll be exploring sustaining practices while we find ourselves in this disorienting wilderness.

Pastor Libby is offering a

Round Table Check In via Zoom

this week as a means to simply being together without an agenda -- if you'd like the company, come hang out!
This Friday April 17th, at 2:30pm.

Breath Prayer

The following breath prayer can be used to honor Easter's reality in your world, even as we live amidst a Global Pandemic. It may help you to let go of attachments, compulsions and addictions and wake up to love. If God is difficult language for you, perhaps substitute, "from Love."
Pray the words as many times as is helpful, and then settle in to listen to your breath as a means to listen to God's response back to you:

Inhale: Nothing can separate me,
Exhale: from the love of God.

1. I am thankful for my mind and its ability to help me make wise decisions
2. I will choose to exercise my brain on something other than COVID (a book, a hobby, a conversation, etc...)
3. I can use resources to help me sort through the thoughts I am having

1. I am loved at my core, from start to finish, top to bottom
2. I can take the time I need to process and identify the emotions I am feeling
3. I sit with complex emotions and welcome them as friends, but not invite them to rule the roost

1. I can exercise and stretch my body
2. I can take care of someone I love: a family member, neighbor, friend or co-worker
3. I can connect with and listen to my breath and my heart beat as the baseline for my presence

1. I can practice trust when I am afraid
2. I can utilize music to give voice to my unidentified experience
3. I lean into the practices of gratitude and rest when I am overwhelmed

If you are immunocompromised, or in need of physical support right now - please reach out to us -- the office number is listed in our signature and you can always find us on Facebook or email.

You are loved, dear hearts.

In the same way, let us love and serve each other so that those to whom love is a stranger might find in us, generous friends.
